Thanks to those that viewed (and important) left comments on my "basic amplification" video. I had no expectations but it's apparently been viewed over 500 times.

It seems that I continue to have "Covid Time" on my hands so...work is underway for an "Episode 2" which will cover parts identification and disassembly/reassembly of a dobro style resonator guitar.

This all came about because I wanted some video editing skills and this seemed like a way to kill several birds with one stone.

Well...Since there will be at least 2 episodes everything deserves a cool name. I have chosen "ResoBits" for the series which will reside on YouTube, perhaps under its own channel, dunno. I'll figure it it.

I'm trying a different recording scheme with this video. Maybe even add a (gasp) title page and video effects??

More to follow....

Howard, thanks for continuing to contribute to the reso community during the new abnormal.

Although I must say, "Resobits" brought to mind a Monty Python's Flying Circus sketch:

"...Number 17:  the naughty bits of a Beard Odyssey..."

Hahaha..

Dave,

I'm a huge Python fan and didn't think about it although, in my present state of mind it certainly fits.  It's all about the "nasty bits"! wink

If I could have used the "Spanish Inquisition" I would have!

Are you using a Mac or Windows? If you’re using a Mac, iMovie is remarkably good for free until you want to step up to Final Cut Pro X which is what I use.

Nobody would have expected the Spanish Inquisition.

Happy to hear about the next video, wondering if you might mention the variables that are considered during a professional setup. I don't think any of us mortals will ever be in the setup business but it would be interesting to muze about what they look at and in what priority. Or did I just give you an idea for video number 3 ???

I'll prob not do anything on setups per say. I will touch on cones on this video including what a typical over tensioned cone looks like.

I'd invest in the original Beard setup video for good basic info. imho it takes a skilled technician and artist to assess a guitar's design and establish the best possible setup. It goes way beyond "the grooves are too deep/shallow".It is beyond my skill set.
