Hello and thanks to all for allowing me to post. I recently acquired a Quality square neck resonator from the estate of Jimmy Henley. It is obviously a Very well made instrument with the name of
Orval Gray on the headstock. Stamping is OLO 001 2 91. I would really appreciate any info on this. Pictures attached.

I would guess from the serial number, that it was his first one, and was made in February 1991.

New one on me - never heard of the builder.

Maybe it was his first, and perhaps only resonator guitar.

If the picture of his gravestone is still accurate, his widow may still be alive.

One interesting thing. On one of the photos of his gravestone it said he was a Navy vet from WW2. Unless my math is wrong, he would have been 16 when the war ended. I know a lot of men lied about their age in order to get into the war. I'll bet he was an interesting guy.

Lots of nice ornamentation in an outside-the-box way. Also, the first reso I've seen with a bolt-on neck like the old 70s import Epiphone acoustics. Enjoy!

It also appears like the upper bout is wider than the lower bout...I have never seen that before...

Hmmm. Might be a perspective issue. Perhaps van56 can offer a straight-on front photo to verify...
