I think I mentioned a while ago that I was building a squareneck "Del Vecchio style" biscuit bridge resonator. Aside from chasing down a couple of string buzzes it's pretty much completed.

I'll take questions...

Difficult question.  Basically, it sounds like a typical biscuit bridge setup... not as loud as a spider bridge, but more volume than an acoustic guitar. If you've ever heard recordings from, say, the 1920's where they recorded into a "tin-can" microphone to primitive recording equipment it sounds like that.

That said, other than doing "bluesy" type stuff this thing, to my way of thinking, has little use.

Does it sound like the Del Vecchio Chet is playing in the video?

Heh... I suppose if Chet removed the reverb and any other induced effects, tuned to open G, raised the strings and played with a steel bar there may be a similarity, but no... the sound of his apple has little likeness to my orange in that video.

Thinking about it my Road-O-Phonic, unplugged, is close to the sound. That probably doesn't help most people though...

Nice work! The cone appears to be black. Is the cone carbon fiber? Or is that a screen over the cone openings?

Thanks. The cone is a Beard biscuit bridge cone (aluminum). The cover plate sound holes are 2" speaker grills with black mesh screens.
