For those who may not have heard, Phil is in ICU and on a ventilator. He is fully vaccinated but with all his medical problems he contracted the virus as well as wife Lisa. The last info I saw posted on Facebook he was scheduled for surgery to remove the 2 ports he has for the cancer and dialysis in hopes that and antibiotics would curtail the blood infection. Phil is a fighter but he and his family could sure use our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear this, and praying for the best outcomes for both him and his wife. They've been through a lot in recent years.

Thanks for posting this, Jan. I know I have been bothered by the silence on Phil’s Facebook since the post where he said he and Lisa had COVID. He said it was the worst thing he had ever experienced, and, after all he’s been through the past many years, that must mean it’s unimaginably horrible. This man needs a break!

Thank you for writing on here about my dad. This has been the absolute worst week and a half in my life. My mom took dad to the hospital last Sunday morning because his blood pressure dropped 68/40. When he got in they got his blood pressure up and got him some fluids. The next day he tested positive for Covid as well did my mom. Later on that evening they said dad had pneumonia and sent him home with antibiotics. We could not figure out why the hospital discharged dad but they said he just needs rest and needs to try to eat since he hadn’t ate at this point for about 4 days. Wednesday his mind was slipping and he started having problems walking. Thursday morning his mind was completely gone and he was not able to drink or even use a straw. It was impossible for mom to give him his medicine. We had to get the ambulance to come and get dad. The sad part to this is that is the last time mom has seen dad since he has been in the hospital because they will not allow any visitors due to dad being Covid positive. So since last Thursday dad has been on several breathing machines and now is on a ventilator at 75%. Started out in ICU but is now in critical care. The doctors discovered he has a bad infection in his blood and they believed it is either from his cancer port or his dialysis port so he had surgery yesterday to have them removed. Today they said he has air in his chest and after that one of his lungs collapsed. We feel so helpless not being there with dad. I am just heartbroken and worried. Spoke to the doctor earlier and he said he is very concerned because all his health issues. We really need your prayers. He’s my dad but also my best friend and this hurts so far. Again thank you for writing about him on here. I wanted to just chime in and give you an update.

Is there any update on Phil's condition?

I saw a post on Facebook yesterday by Matt’s wife Ashley that Matt was allowed to visit his Dad. Phils organs are shutting down and they are starting palliative care. Phil had gotten news that his sister had died right before he was admitted to the hospital so it’s a really tough time for the family.

I was very upset to hear this. I did not know him but I discuss things about his signature guitar over emails. I bought the recording King Phil Leadbetter reso. He gave me advice on amplification and talked about his band. I bought a couple CDs and that was a fortunate enough to get his last one. I hear he was a great guy he seemed like one to me really enjoyed his music. Inspires me still
