Sound Hole screen just fell of ( cheap import) . Appears to have been glued .
What glue to use to put back ? Common wood glue ( aka Elmer type) or something else ?
Do you have hot melt available?
Probably . If it's hiding , I'll get another cheap one .
The ring without the screen looks nice too. Just don’t drop your picks in there.
I know the screenless is popular ,but I just prefer the look of the screens .
Sorry, please clarify the question: Did the complete sound screen with the metal ring detatch from the guitar, or did the screen part detach from the metal ring?
If the former, a simple layer of masking tape around the screen ring may provide enough interference for it to stay put. Or a very little bit of hot melt glue per Badger's input. Both ought to be reversible.
If the latter, you would need to solder the screen back to the ring, a rather dicey proposition.
Happend to me too. Common issue with many imports. The holes are way too large for wraps. The gripping part of the ring doesn't even touch the cutout. Clean off any wax/polish around the area and wood glue outer flange to the top. Super glue, if you want it to stay forever.
Sorry, I had assumed the screen had fallen out of the ring. If so, DaveR's masking tape buildup is the way to go. If the problem is reattaching the screen to the decorative ring, try hot melt. If it doesn't work, replacements aren't expensive.
