I have a Dobro model 114C. I can find very little about this model and I am wondering if there are others out there who also have this model. I am the original owner and still have the receipt from when I ordered it in 1993. Does anyone know about this Dobro. It has a pointed cut away, F holes, natural finish, with black binding. it is a round neck.
Thanks for any information.

Original OMI Dobro model 114 had a similar dreadnaught shaped body except the cutaway.

Yes. However the model 114C has the f holes instead of the round holes. I realize the 114 model was produced since the 1970s. The example I am inquiring about is the 1993-1995 ?? version. I have yet to see another and am wondering if folks other have one. I appreciate your reply.

Was this the only one made? it was constructed during the Gibson purchase/transition. I wonder? I am still hopeful that someone on the forum will have some information. thanks

I am friends with Mike Replogle on Facebook. Mike was the GM at OMI Dobro in Huntington Beach from 1993-97 when Gibson bought the company, but he did not move to Nashville when they locked the doors in Southern California in '97 and resumed production at the Opry Mills in '98..

These days Mike is the production manager at prestigious Santa Cruz Guitars.

I will try to get a hold of him to see what I can find out about this guitar.

Thank you very much for your help. It was a long time ago that this Dobro was manufactured.

It was a whole lot longer when the Dobro in my profile photo was manufactured - like 1933! smiley
