Hi all, a few weeks back there were some videos with Reso Joe that I really liked, but I can't find them now. Can anybody point to the right spot please?
Thanks for any help!

Not sure why 3 question marks appeared, but it wouldn’t let me go back and fix it.

You're not finding the site because it's Dobro Joe, not Reso Joe.

You're missing entering your credit card to sign up for a subscription, which I did this afternoon.

I was a subscriber years ago, and decided  to join up again.  After my subscription ran out I would buy a copy every so often at a newsstand if some articles looked interesting. But there hasn't been a book or magazine store that has carried it in many years in my neck of the woods.

It's been years since I've spent much time around bluegrassers, but I ordered a one year subscription just for the heck of it. Maybe it will inspire me to get out to some 'grass jams again, that is, if my right middle finger cooperates as I will explain below.

Like other mags these days, a subscription buys you both print and digital access.

Now that I'm board again, I found the article on Dobro Joe, and there is also a current article on Abbie Gardner.

Havent read them yet - just left the dermatologist office in Healdsburg. I have had an annoying and somewhat painful digital cyst next to the nail on possibly the worst finger  for a dobro and steel guitar player - the middle finger on my right hand. It's right where my Sammy Shelor fingerpick wraps around the top.

The Doc numbed it for the second time in a month, went in with a needle and was digging joint fluid out. He told if it doesn't improve over time I could have a hand surgeon take a crack it.

I'm getting a new right knee in mid June, so I'm not ready for finger surgery on top of that.

This getting old crap just doesn't cut the mustard.

@Markinsonoma it sure ain't fun, that's for sure. Dobro playing is good therapy!

It would be better  therapy if I could wear a pick on my right middle finger without it stinging every time I pluck a string! wink

Mark, try an Acri pick on the affected finger.

Jan, I was thinking that also or maybe a Perfect Touch set but it may be that the mere movement and pressure will bring pain

Jan, thanks for the suggestion - and wouldn't you know it - I recently  received a pair of Acri picks from a guy on The Steel Guitar Forum who didn't care for them, I will give them a go.

Mark

Getting old ain't for sissies!

I like the Acri pics. Mine are brass. What I use.

I suspect they just happened to be the forth set I had tried. One morning I woke up after a year of wearing pics. I seemed not to be so pic-y anymore.
