Does anyone have a doubleshot fitted to a PBS? I ask because how much does it add to the height of the instrument and does it still fit inside the standard GT PBS case ?

I don’t own one, but you will definitely need a new case.

Confirmed. Will not fit in standard case.

At around $850 for the kit (tailpiece, roller nut, locking tuners) and a new case you’re probably spending as much or more as the Goldtone is worth. If you love the guitar and want the convenience that JD has on one instrument go for it. I instead purchased a second square neck keep it tuned in D and all adjustments always stay were they should on both instruments.

I too prefer separate instruments for separate tunings. However, do you travel for gigs? One case versus two would help with paking/unpacking all the gear.

I say go for it. Someday I’d like one on one of my guitars too.

At a jam, as handy as James Bond’s Aston Martin, don’t ya think?

I used an older Travelite TL-60 case with my Doubleshot-equipped Appalachian, fit just fine. When I moved the Doubleshot to a Beard Odyssey, I got the Beard deep case.

My back likes carrying one reso with two tunings, so +1 on the Doubleshot...
