No problem with stretching on the 5th string here either. What has been normal stretch for me is tune them up and give each string a good tug. Tune them up again if needed and then switch the Doubleshot back and forth a couple of times. Tune up again, exercise the Doubleshot retune in D and then finally tune in the G tuning. After that these strings as well as the EJ42’s have settled in pretty well. I just installed a set of EJ42’s but find that I really do prefer the new SUS sound and playability much better. Not a pro like most of you folks but a long time musician who knows what sound I am after.

My 5th string string problem is always when the new strings are being installed. I install the 5th string, wind it to tune, then activate the DoubleShot. The pitch falls a whole step. I wind it to tune again, activate the DoubleShot, and the tuning falls a whole step again. I repeat this often a dozen times, with the DA Nickel Bronze either holding pitch or breaking. The Straight Ups seem to be holding.
It only happens on the 5th string. I thought there might be something wrong with the tuner, like it was slipping or something, but no, the string windings on the 5th string tuner go round and round, unlike the other tuners, so I know it's the string itself.
