Josh Swift has lessons available on his website, ResoFlix.com. There is a preview (free) lesson (#14) about note transitions and how to go from sounding like an amateur to a pro. A lot of great information and an eye opener for me. Everybody should check it out. After watching I think I will purchase some more lessons.

Thanks Mark. I tried but it would not let me delete the duplicate.
Coincidentally, I was recently listening to Josh Swift’s playing on Julie Ann (live in Prague) with Doyle Lawson. Incredible break at 2:00. What struck me is all the precise note transitions he uses at fast tempo in that tune - with a lot of clean half step moves.

Watching that new sample instruction video, it all makes sense, as in, that's a conscious, integral part of his advanced playing style. And he's obviously in a super elite category.
What a great player, and what a great lesson.
