If you have had the guitar for a fairly short amount of time, the first thing I would do is to contact Recording King, which is headquartered here in the Bay Area.
The parent company is called The Music Link. Here is a link to a contact page where you can get a hold of them. I would like to think they will take care of it for you - but you never know. It's worth a try:

Thanks. I'll get in touch with them. I appreciate your help.

Originally posted by doug662Man I have heard so many people who bought this reso, are most all going to have to get new tuners.
The original tuners are the only aspect that isn't up to the quality level of the rest of the guitar. I really like the guitar and expect I'll be happy with completely once they're installed.
I just got an email from Recording King. The customer service rep said he had extra tuners and could send one to me. In between my posting originally about the tuner problem, I decided to just replace the tuners so I didn't need it after all. It's good to know, though, that Recording King customer service is responsive and willing to work with you, even if you're not the original owner.
Even though you went another route, I'm happy to hear that my suggestion of contacting the company "bore some fruit."
On the other hand, though the Phil model might be the best bang for the buck out there in a fairly good quality squareneck reso, the two negatives seem to be 1. the tuners and 2. some players are not happy with the narrower than normal 1 3/4" nut.
