JamVal is a variant on the annual Joe Val Bluegrass festival in Framingham, MA that is focused on jamming only. A number of 3 hour classes are being offered on Friday Feb 14, including a dobro class by Roger Williams. The class is positioned as high-intermediate to advanced. More info here: bbu.org/events/jamval/.
Even if you don't take the class I encourage you to come out and jam if you're close by. It's a great event with something for everyone. In the past the dobro workshops have been slim to none as there's not as many of us around, so I was excited to see that Roger is offering a course this year. A full schedule of events and workshops will probably be posted around a week before the event. I am not associated with the event, just an enthusiastic participant.

Tim, is this a one-time event, or planned for future years? I'll be moving to TN in a couple years and I'd love to attend something like this.
It's an annual event. Usually the February event is a full blown indoor bluegrass festival with stage performances called the Joe Val Festival. They are still working on getting that up and running post-Covid but are hoping to have it back next year. In the meantime, they have been doing "Jam Val" focused on jamming only. There is a similar weekend long jam fest in November each year called JamVember, held at the same venue in Framingham, MA. It would be well worth a trip if you are in driving distance, and I've met people from all over the country at these events.
