Is there a better way than trial and error? I’m replacing the cone in a Regal RC-55.

If there happens to be a reso savvy luthier in the neighborhood, having them do it may be the best way. If not, get a biscuit with the saddle not glued in; it's easier to sand and fine-tune. (I wish I could remember where I ordered mine from a few years ago).

See the variety of biscuits and saddles including compensated offered by Replogle. Be sure to check all pages.

If you look up the StewMac fret calculator dial in guitar. It will give you the compensation measurement for your bridge placement.

martyjoe Unless I’m missing something, there’s little to no adjustment to saddle placement, other than rotating the biscuit about the mounting screw.

SamCy there’s a lot of nice product there.
