Resonator Guitar Lovers Online
Hey Friends, just picked this instrument up and wondering if you could provide any information on it. No serial numbers of any kind on it. The only other dobro I find this kind of resonator plate on is a 1930’s metal body. Case is very old and has an old slide. The paint on the back of the headstock seems odd too. The tailpiece has no aging and looks new. If this is an old instrument it must have sat under a bed for many years. Any help is appreciated!

Need more photos - back, side, neck, headstock. We should be able to nail it down with the additional photos.
An unusual coverplate, there was one for sale here in the Bay Area about a year ago that was a wood body Model 37 with the typical screen rings rather than f-holes - but this particular 37 had no soundwell. So when this coverplate shows up every now and then it was typically on lower cost guitars in the product line. But what is different about this one is that it appears to be nickel silver rather chrome plating, and when I have seen this design in the past it has been chrome.
No serial number on the headstock indicates it is likely Regal-built in Chicago from around 1935-36.
