I have a very nice All metal Duolian Resophonic and I'd like help intepretting the code on the head stock.
#M1145990D I think it's a 1990 model but I am not sure. I bought it used in about 1993 or 1994. It's in near new condition with a case and I am interested in selling it. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
First off, without photos, I'm guessing this a Dobro brand Duolian?
From the 90D at the end it's likely 1990, but the D at the end is weird - that normally indicates a wood body Dobro.
Are the letters/numerals all single spaced, or are there gaps in between? if there are gaps it makes it easier to piece together the information.

Rather than trying to figure out why uploading the photos didn't work for you, I sent you a PM which includes my email address. Send them to me and I will upload them to this thread.
M = prefix for a Metal body model. Not sure what the 11 stands for, maybe the Duolian was known a the Model 11?
459 = instrument rank for the year.
90 = 1990
You missed on the final letter - it is a "B" rather than a "D," which indicates metal body in general, nothing to do with the actual model number. Why they chose B for metal and D for wood, I've never known - haven't ever come across an explanation.
It's good you typed the serial number in the original post, they're often difficult to read on these Dobro headstocks. You might be able to read it in your house (except fort he B part
) but they often don't come out very clearly online - we've seen it dozens of times, and we go back and ask the poster type it in the topic.
You likely already know this, but for any rookies reading this thread, the guitar was made in Huntington Beach, California.
Thank-you, Yes, you are correct about the letter. I noticed my error after I looked at it again. I did not know where it was made. I am the 2nd owner and I received none of the original info. , just a very nice guitar and a case in excellent case. I have kept it in the same condition as when I received it. Oh, you were supposed to have received five pics. My internet service here sucks and sometimes doesn't send all infos. Thanks again...
