New beginner course + 3 other lessons/month starting Jan 1 on my Patreon

Hi all - forgive the self promo, but I thought some of you might be interested. I have a Patreon Dobro lessons site going with over 100 prerecorded lessons so far. In 2025 I taught 52 "Song of the Week" lessons, and I also have a bunch of other archived lessons on the site.

Starting in January 2026 I'm doing four lessons per month (all with some amount of Tab or charts depending on the subject):

1) Dobro from Zero - a course for beginners with a new lesson each month. This will be systematically taught, so each lesson will build on what's come before, and most players - even experienced ones - will get something out of the beginner's course since most Dobro pickers have holes in their learning.

2) Dobro Toolkit - a lesson on technique, fretboard concepts, and/or practice routines.

3) Steal this Lick - a cool Dobro lick (often with variations).

4) Tab of the Month Club - a full song arrangement, usually of a jam standard, taught on video with detailed Tab and backing tracks provided. I'll do this lesson last each month so I can try to incorporate ideas from a given month's first three lessons into the arrangement.

All subscriptions provide access to all of the above and more and start at the dirt cheap price of just $12 per month for now. For active subscribers, prices will never go up, but I'll probably increase prices on new subscriptions in mid-January, so this will be the last chance to lock in current pricing. For the time being I'm offering a one week free trial of the basic membership so folks can check out the site and see if a paid membership would be worthwhile. patreon.com/ivanrosenberg

Note: if you use Apple devices, please sign up using a regular web browser rather than the Patreon app from the App store to avoid Apple's inexplicable 30% surcharge on subscriptions made using the App.

I'll vouch for this.  I just signed up a couple days ago and have been binging on the content.  At $12/month, it may be the best bang-for-buck body of instruction I've ever seen.

Without going into too much detail on my specific situation, let's just say I had some "holes in my learning" that Ivan's material is helping fill (even though I've been playing a while).  And some of the fretboard concepts have been eye openers (for me).  And this doesn't even scratch the surface...ie, all the song-of-the week lessons in the archives, licks, etc.

Great stuff Ivan!

Just to clarify, I’ve been studying all the archived content on Ivan’s site and learning from the material. It is included with the subscription.

Obviously the new stuff he mentions starting Jan 2026 will be “added goods”.

Great stuff.

Thanks for the kind words Jamie, and I'm glad you're getting a lot out of the site. You're a great player already!

Thanks - that's very generous of you.  Always learning, and grateful for the instructional resources you've put together, and continue to roll out.

For anyone looking to level up their playing, Ivan's lesson site is a great option, and a tremendous value!

I highly recommend lessons with Ivan. Plus he is just the best as a person.

Another recommendation for Ivan's materials. I've taken a few of his courses and been part of his Patreon site.

I would like to check it out via the one week free trial. I use an ipad (apple) exclusively. ivanrosenberg

Hi Carey - no problem using an iPad, but sign up using a Safari or other web browser on your iPad rather than using the Patreon app to subscribe. Once you have a subscription I don't think they can subsequently up-charge you for using the App, but personally I find the entire Patreon platform a lot easier to navigate on a web browser anyway. Hope that helps!

Do you have a link for the non-patreon signup? Everything I see is patreon related. I do have safari.

Just copy/paste the following url into your safari web browser - https://www.patreon.com/ivanrosenberg/membership

That'll take you to the browser-based version of Patreon, and it's fine to sign up there (that is, I'm 99% sure they won't add the surcharge, which as far as I know they only do with the actual Patreon App which you'd have to download from the App Store ) - hope that makes sense! Let me know if that does the trick for you.

ivanrosenberg I signed up this morning and took a look at the first toolkit lesson. It looks like something I will like. If I decide to go with it, will I still qualify for the $12/month deal?

I'll shoot you a message about that on Patreon...
