I have a Recording King Maxwell round neck resonator, and after setup (new strings, adjust intonation at the bridge, etc.) and new Gotoh tuners, I still have one minor issue--a slight rattle from the B string. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I found the culprit. The ball end of the B string was rattling against the resonator cover. I shoved a business card under the tailpiece, and that fixed it, although the fix was not very attractive! I then loosened the string enough that I could rotate the ball end, and that seems to have solved the problem. The next time I change strings I'll look for a better solution, perhaps a scrap of thin leather placed between the tailpiece and the resonator cover.

Right - thin leather, felt, rubber material. You're talking roundneck, but as far as putting a piece of material between the tailpiece and coverplate most of the folks here are squarneck lap style players and we pretty much all have been doing this for may years.

An oldie but goodie. Here's how Brad Harper used Velcro loop material to make a tailpiece pad. I've put this pad on a few resos. If you prefer leather or felt, adapt accordingly. youtube.com/watch?v=eVQ8JuLQZJU
