I recently bought a used Epiphone Dobro Hound Dog Deluxe with a round neck, and I’m a bit confused about the recommended tuning for this specific model.
Most recommendations I’ve seen for a dobro tuning is GBDGBD but I don’t know if the neck is built for such high tension (especially being a round neck and not too thick).
Any feedback would be appreciated.

When people refer to "dobro tuning" they mean GBDGBD as in lap style playing.
Though a roundneck Hound Dog Deluxe has a Dobro logo on the headstock since it is part of that company - it's not meant to be used for (lower case) dobro tuning. We are often refer to GBDGBD as "high bass Open G."
The safe version version of Open G tuning you want to use is low-to-high, DGDGBD, where you are lowering the notes on stings 5 and 6 thererby reducing a significant amount of tension on the neck in comparison to squarneck lap style Open G. It is the original Hawaiian "taro patch" tuning used by slack key guitar players and a bazillion others, for example, one of my favorites being Ry Cooder.
Another very popular tuning that works with a typical roundneck set of guitar strings is Open D or low-to-high DADF#AD. Go to YouTube for thousands of examples of these tunings. Open E tuning is also popular, EBEG#BE, you can get there from Open D with a capo on the 2nd fret.
And try both Open G and open D tuning- one might work better for you personally. I'm fine with G on round neck but can't get a grip on D (or E). However, E is my main square neck tuning.
