Hi. I have my grandfather's 1929 National Triolian resonator steel guitar. Walnut Sunburst finish. Really good condition. Are there any experts in this forum for these vintage items that could help me assess value? I've seen a wide range from $3500-$8000.
The stamp on the headstock is 1582W with PATAPLDFOR (patent applied for). I put it into AI and it suggested I check with this forum to help with value.

Hard to tell from your avatar pic but it does look nice. I haven't seen any Triolian move above $4000.00 myself and $3000ish seems about right to me if you want it to sell. Does it have a wood neck, or Bakelite? More pictures would help. That looks like just a standard sunburst, the walnut finish came later in the '30s.

National Guitar Repair may be worth contacting also: https://www.nationalguitarrepair.com
He's quite amiable; we had a nice chat when I called with questions about a recently acquired National.

That's a beauty! Glad to see more vintage Nationals in the DFW metroplex!
