Hey there, I am new to this group. I do have previous experience with fiddle hang out and wouldn't mind re-kindling that as well. Reason why I am on this topic is the dealings with a Myers pickup. The one that I am about to rant upon is the device that uses a suction cup to attach it the the instrument. From the very get go, I always had a difficult time keeping the unit from slipping off of the instrument. When I did manage to keep it in place, it worked very well. That was far and in between at my gigs. I finally got frustrated and just went with a SM-57 instrument mic. I purchased this unit about two years ago and did not get $200 worth out of it as a result. Several weeks ago, I came across and add from Myers showing the same unit with a clip for the cone instead of a suction cup. Hmm I said, they finally realized that the suction cup was not a great idea! My Mcguyver mode switched in. I can fabricate stuff mechanically and also in electronics because I have years of experience doing this. I found a woman's hair clip in my violin luthier tool box used for bow re-hair jobs, removed the suction cup from the device and managed to attach the clip to the device instead. It worked rather well until I took it to a gig and the sound guy had no signal. In short, we found that flexing the mic that it was cutting in and out. The mic has an internal break in it. My thought is that the damage done was a result of the unit constantly falling off. I emailed Myers about this entire scenario 4 weeks ago and never got a reply from them and I am a bit pissed at them as a result. If there is somewhere that I can give a review on this product, it would not be a very good one. Sorry about the long rant!
