I can't find screenless rings in stock online, Beard included, and I don't care to risk damaging the finish of my current rings by attempting to remove the screens.

I'm not clear on your question.
You used the word "screen" on it's own without "ring" to follow in the second post.
Over the years some people when wanting to go for the screenless ring look carefully trimmed the screens to remove them from the rings rather than replacing them with already made screenless rings.
Since you found some screenless rings online I guess what you are asking is how does one go about removing the screen rings from the guitar without damaging them.
It's not really about damaging the rings - they're not delicate. It's more about being careful to avoid damaging the finish on the guitar in that area while removing the screen rings.
What I and others have done in the past is to work multiple lengths of dental floss around the rings and get the floss under the "lip" or the edge then pull it up. It should work on most guitars.
If they are being stubborn and difficult to remove, light fishing line should work.
No doubt others have used different methods, but this has worked for me.
No idea of course what guitar you have, but there have been times where someone has glued the screen rings onto the guitar, but now you have to go to a "Plan B" - hopefully the dental floss or fishing line method is all you need.
