My chrome plater recommended ammonia-free glass cleaner for nickel-plated surfaces, and I’ve had excellent results with it. I used it on a nickel-plated guitar I owned. I’d lightly spray it on a soft cloth, and fingerprints and tarnishing disappeared easily.

Learned a long time ago that playing is not real,thick.
Aggressive cleaners will damage it.
Yes, the ammonia-free glass cleaner does a wonderful job without leaving a “greasy” residue or requiring you to spend the next five hours buffing and cleaning.
