Erik Waynesmith of Advanced Music Technology is buying strings in bulk from GHS and Martin and packaging them in sets of the most common gauges for resonator guitar. Buying 10 sets at a time, for instance, AMT packaged GHS 1650 gauges sell for $4.00 a set. That's a great price for factory fresh strings.

Erick also buys Martin SP acoustic strings and sells packaged reso sets (Martin doesn't sell SP phosphor bronze packaged reso sets .) If you buy twelve sets the cost is $4.50 a set. I've tried both the repackaged GHS and the Martin strings and the Martin strings are by far the best strings I have ever played, both in tone and string life. Erick told me that everyone who has tried the Martin strings switches over to them, they are that good. Worth checking out!

You can reach AMT at reso-nation.org, look under the sponsors tab.

Keep on pickin'

Mike

Geez. The Martin Bluegrass resonator guitar strings are NICKEL WOUND. Not the phosphor bronze SP strings that are NOT available in sets from Martin.
