About this Page

This page is for Reso Hangout members who have volunteered to help maintain the lesson or links areas of the site. My goal here is to give you a quick rundown of what I'm looking for when you enter link titles, descriptions, etc, so the links and lessons can be formatted consistently even though we have multiple people working on them.

If you haven't read it yet, be sure to read the Link How To to get familiar with how the administration tools work (they're easy!)

Questions or comments? Feel free to email me at eric@resohangout.com

Link Titles

Link titles should generally contain the name of the site, and sometimes a word or two about the particular page you're linking to. Use title case for link titles (eg, "ResoHangout Link Archive" not "ResoHangout link archive).

Sometimes site owners will submit their links and try to do "keyword stuffing" in the title, to try to boost their search engine rankings. (They may enter "Free Resonator Guitar Lessons Online" instead of "John Smith's Resonator Guitar Lessons.") This isn't user-friendly for the folks browsing the link archives, so we discourage it.

Link Descriptions

The description should be a sentence or two that describe what this link contains, what sets it apart from other links, etc. Use sentence case for the description (eg, "One of the biggest archives of links to various reso-related sites.")

Submitter Email

This one is a bit tricky. What I'm looking for here is the email address of the person in charge of the website you're linking to. I use this email address to send an automatic email out when links are added, letting people know a link to their site has been added to the Reso Hangout. If you can't find an email address, leave this field blank.
