This page is for Reso Hangout members who have volunteered to help maintain the lesson or links areas of the site. My goal here is to give you a quick rundown of how the administration tools work, so you can get started right away!

If you haven't read them yet, be sure to read the style guidelines.

Your Job as a Links/Lessons Admin

As an administrator of the links and lessons archives, it's your job to find new links to add to the archives, and to edit/approve links submitted by other members. When a Hangout site is young, a lot of work goes into finding links and adding them yourself...but as the site matures, more and more people submit links, and your role shifts more to that of editing and approving existing links.

Adding Links/Lessons

Adding a link or lesson is as simple as clicking the "Submit a Link" button found in various places on the site. This takes you to the same tool that the general public sees when they add links, although it's a bit more flexible if you're designated as a link administrator. Fill out the form (please make sure it conforms to the style guidelines!) and click "Save" and you're done!

Submitted Links/Lessons

If you are a link or lesson administrator, you'll see an area called "submitted links" on the main links page (or "submitted lessons" on the main lessons page). This lists links that other site visitors have submitted. These links must be approved by a link administrator before they're added to the links archive. Please check the link, make sure it conforms to the style guidelines and is in the correct category, then uncheck the "Hide" box and save changes to make the link visible.

Editing a Link/Lesson

To edit a link or lesson, click the little pencil icon next to it, make your changes, then click the "Save Changes" button. Easy!
