Since it's slow right now for playing, I took my workhorse apart for some cleaning and checking. Anyone else?

I had mine apart about 2 months ago. It had been more than a year since I had done so. Cleaned out all the leaves and dead crickets, not to mention an inch of dust on the cone. Like having a new guitar!

Yep, sure does.
I washed the cone, spider and coverplate with a damp sponge to get all the gunk off. Cleaned up the inside of the guitar and polished up the outside. I also adjusted the tuners to make sure they were smooth and not coming apart. At the end, I put it all back together and gave it a new set of strings. The guitar appreciated the effort and sounded great. ![]()

I generally do that the week before Christmas to all of my instruments. It is like getting yourself gifts by not being lazy and taking care of your own stuff. It always sounds so much better and looks great
