I own an Amistar (roundneck) Style 3 12-String and I love it! I also own Dobros and Nationals and I rate the Amistar as good as the Nationals. In the ccase of the roundnecks, The Amistar neck is slightly narrower than the National and may fit smaller hands a little better.

Hopefully somebody on here has experience with an Amistar squareneck, but from a sound and quality standpoint I can tell you the Amistar product is great.

Thanks Don ! I've heard nothing but great things about Amistar. ... So I just talked with Larry Flatt at Vagabond Instruments and popped for the Style 1 Tricone Vintage Finish squareneck w/ pickup system. Can't wait to get it !

Great! You'll need to post some sound files here on RHO when you get it. Also I'd be interested in what the cost was when all is said and done.

I also have an Amistar single cone (biscuit bridge) roundneck ("Don" style), beautifully appointed, great sound. Yes, that 's me playing it in my avatar pic.
Their website, however, doesn't feature squarenecks very prominently (if at all). So I don't really know what their expertise is in the single cone / spider bridge department.
