I got my Martin Gross strap on Monday. Right away I gave it a really detailed inspection & now (after a couple days of using it) I thought I'd post a review, so here goes. FANTASTIC!!! From the top grain leather construction, to the carefully thought out design, even down to the flawless stitching, every single thing about this strap is top shelf quality. I took a couple pictures for reference (please excuse the picture quality):

Here's the strap w/my Beard:

The inside of the strap is fully lined w/quality suede leather (Martin calls it 'velour) & the strap really stays put:

The right forearm end has a slick finished leather lining:

The optional forearm cut-out really frees up the picking hand:

Attention to detail thru-out, all edges are nicely finished:

Martin covers the metal buckle w/a protective (& very attractive) leather cover. Notice the velcro that holds the assy in place:

In use this padded strap is very comfortable & my guitar feels very stable. I'm really impressed & very happy w/this strap - THANKS Martin!!

Me too, I have been chatting about it with Martin for several days now.

I didn't mean for this review to come across as a sales pitch, but the quality of this strap just knocks me out & I call it like I see it. Anyhow, you guys definitely won't regret your decision. Be sure & share your experience w/us & post pics of your straps.

Can you get the guitar in the case with the strap on?

You shouldnt have the guitar stored with the strap on it, unless you want to have problems with the finish on the guitar. Guitar care 101

I store the guitar on a stand, but I will remember your advice. When I transport the guitar in the case I route the strap down the back of the neck and across the back. The base is unhooked and after I place the guitar in the case, I lay the strap over the coverplate and tuck the end in next to the neck. You have to be careful to not route the strap over the palmrest and possibly bend it down.

Sweat and body acids can accumulate on the leather and possibly transfer to the guitar body or neck and might wreak havoc with your fiinish, possibly permanent.
