How about a little 8 String Swing: Mike Auldridge style? Six stings as well and maybe a little lap steel in C6th tuning, too?

Wakey, wakey...

I'd like to attempt an arrangement of Honeysuckle Rose in C6th.

Just wondering if anyone had any idea of what key would be best suited and how to intro.

And......also, would it be possible to comp it as backup to a vocalist as a sole instrument??

I was sniffing around Youtube tonight- seems like most versions are in F, which might work pretty well in a C6 tuning. I do think you could comp behind a singer without too much trouble, as the basic chords are easy enough- making it really spiffy will take some work, like everything else, I guess! Love to hear it if you found a way to get what you were after. tc
x says: 9/29/2011 11:23:12 AM Hi, again. I messed around a bit more and found the melody plays well in C, rather than F. May not be quite what you're looking for, but it has a nice jazz harmony to it, if you use some open strings. I'll keep working on it. tc
