I got my first reso, an electric blue Johnson round neck in Kodiak Alaska and beat it up with a glass slide for a few months before I could afford a gold tone and a real bar. Since then I've owned eight reso guitars and several other various instruments. I jam weekly with some of the best pickers in the southeast here in Florida. The Tampa area has a high concentration of amazing players who've moved south from the traditional blues/bluegrass areas so I'm fortunate to have access to some incredible mentors. It's rare that I don't have a guitar in my lap when I'm at home. Fun Fact: The first time I crossed the equator I was playing a dobro in the back of a C130 cargo plane at 26000 feet. I broke my second string and made a replacement from a piece of aircraft safety wire from my tool box.
