My arrangement of this great gospel song, played on Goldtone PBSM with very dead strings.

Recording from a band performance a few years ago. I played banjo and sang harmony, Joe Longwell played dobro and sang lead. Joe did a fine job with some nice bluesy dobro playing.

Another recording of IInd Birth from 1998, an original song written by Brett Sigler of the group. Brett on guitar and lead vocal, myself on banjo and harmony vocal, my daughter Jennifer on bass and harmony vocal, Dan Holsinger guitar, Joe Longwell resonator guitar and harmony vocal. Recorded live through church sound system, not the best quality and a couple mistakes in the song, but I think the song Brett wrote is really great.

** NO RESO CONTENT ** This was a collaboration project done long distance between myself (MD) Jeff Sherman (OH) and Jennifer Wang (CA). A basic rythm track was created and then each person contributed their parts on seperate tracks via .wav files. I used N-Track Studio to combine everything together in a final mix. Jennifer sang lead vocal and provided the bell like guitar riffs in the middle of the song, Jeff played rhythm and lead guitar, I played mandolin, bass, and sang harmony vocal.

Just some ideas on a hymn, played on Weissenborn, open D tuning, with a partially muted alternating bass rhythm. I'd like to put together a gospel medly, start out slow and pretty, then speed up and end with something like this. This is also a test of a mic I just got and modified - an MXL 990. Removed the 2 inner screens and replaced 3 capacitors on the circuit board - mic cost $45 and mods were $7. I'm pleased with it, very low noise floor and picks up the instrument clear and balanced. Recording is straight, no effects or equalization added.

First impressions of my Weissenborn, and To Know Him is To Love Him in open D.
