Resonator Guitar Lovers Online
Hello all you "lap guitar" lovers...which include quiete a variety.
The story behind the Colonel Sander Tie is...whe I was 15 years old and playing steel guitar with the Country Cousins Band in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania, all the band members got a Cololnel Sanders Tie. Each tie was hand painted by one band member, Dave Kern who played bass and banjo. Each members tie had their name on it also an image of the instrument they played, than Band name and various music note symbols. The other photo is of me when I was 11 or 12 years old playing a Hawaiian guitar my grandmother gave to me ( don't know if it was a Kay, a Dobro, an Owaho or other. The from had hand painted palm trees and hula girls. it was tuned to an open A tuning. Back then I was able to read and play any convention treble clef music written.
The lower photo is of me following a Dobro speech and recital at Emmaus Masonic Lodge 792 in Emmaus PA. in 2013. I am 82 years.
Maybe some of you can comment on some of your music playing experienes...I thinkthe world would like read them.
Be Well,
Tom
