Excuse my ignorance, but how do the good players do the "chop". (Sorry, but I don't know the offical word for it). All but the last note is "deadened", then the last note is played. In the tabs, the "deadened" strings are tabbed as an "x".

I do one of two things...... 1) Strum quick downstrokes with the thumbpick. 2) pluck with three fingers on a chord, muting with the palm and/or the bar, giving a 'chuck' sound.
