Gotta say that I love the atmosphere at the Red Light Cafe in midtown Atlanta and their Thursday night bluegrass jams. Last night seemed particularly energetic for some reason. They're starting something new, by the way, bluegrass karaoke! And no, they don't have a DJ, they get Atlanta's Cedar Hill band to back up whoever wants to take the stage. I went last week and it was great entertainment--I especially enjoyed hearing some of the regulars I jam with "take the mic." Next karaoke is July 7, jamming is every Thursday 7-9.
