On March 20th, at the Hartford Golf Club, I did a show with Nora Collins. She opened the night before for Phil Vassar in Green Bay Wisconsin and being the trouper she is, she was very anxious to do this gig. It went very well for her ...selling CD's and signing autographs...so she started the show on March 20th with some of her own compositions using a capo. As usual, I was challenged to find the right key but got into the swing of things right away. I used my Appy which was miked through the sound board with a Shure SM-57 mike and the board was dialed in just right. She plays acoustic guitar with a pick-up installed and also goes into the board along with her vocal mike. We hit it off very well as this is the second time I have worked with her and it holds promise for more future gigs as this combination of an 'old dobro player' and a young chick doing americana tunes is a very unusual duo.

I may add... she was very complimentary to me and the fact that I didn't play over her vocals was a big help. Just fill in the spaces between the vocals and you will come out just fine.
