I posted a note to all the members on this site's 'Reviews' link and was surprised to hear from a number of them about reviewing their favorite resonator guitar. This got into a lengthy discussion on the one to ten scale to evaluate your guitar. Since I posted four different reviews on the ones I have, there was a concensus that everyone needs to be subjective on their critiques. I thought that by starting this thread, it might be of some help to prospective buyers and other interested readers to use as a rough guideline in their purchases. Several comments included from new players on how to find songs they can learn more licks. I suggested using CD's, and videos from U-Tube to get started. It of course depends on what type of music you are interested in: slow, fast, country, bluegrass, etc. I will continue to post topics of interest on the web-site for future discussion.. till then...Cheers !

I am also on Facebook and Twitter. Check out my blogs on my home page.. Been playing Dobro since 1951..Stage,Radio, Television,Recording Studio,blues...folk,..rock. ..also pedal steel guitarist with 2 Sho-Bud heavily modified pedal steel single neck (3X8) OPRY Steel ( 10X8)..I.always reply to ...numerous recordings on private labels...since 1965 . 4 different dobros..1934,1982 2012..2014... Have not played pedal steel in over a year. Burned out after 55 years of playing it. Now concentrating on getting the best sound with my four resos...And how different cones react to different strings. Curly maple VS mahogany VS all others... This could take a lifetime !! Did Opry touring package shows in 1966-1967..
