This will be the first time I will be playing as a back-up artist this year. On February 6th, the multi award winner and song/writer Nora Collins will be performing at the Hartford Golf Club from 8:00 till 10:00. This exclusive country club will be featuring her on a fairly regular basis depending on her very busy show schedule. She has won so many awards it is hard to keep count. And I am very pleased that I was chosen to back her up on mostly original country/folk tunes she has written. I will be using my Appy resonator for this show and will mike it through the board with a Shure SM-57 Mike and make adjustments on the channel to dial in my particular sound. I have changed strings on all my resos to get a brighter sound and went through Scotty's Music in St. Louis for sets of custom gauge strings ( from 014 tthru 048). I will keep posting on the results of this in the near future. The top 3 strings are plain stainless steel and the bottom 3 are phosphor bronze.

Been playing Dobro since 1951..Stage,Radio, Television,Recording Studio Specialist...country,blues...folk,..rock. ..also pedal steel guitarist with 2 Sho-Bud heavily modified pedal steel guitars...one single neck (3X8)..one OPRY Steel ( 10X8)..I.always reply to e-mails...at tom165mph@yahoo.com. ...numerous recordings on private labels...since 1965 . 4 different dobros..1934,1982 2012..2014... Have not played pedal steel in over a year. Burned out after 55 years of playing it. Now concentrating on getting the best sound with my four resos...And how different cones react to different strings. Curly maple VS mahogany VS all others... This could take a lifetime !! Did Opry touring package shows in 1966-1967..
